Summary:

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas (1979), and taught 5th grade for 4 years before beginning a family. Since that time I have worked as a substitute teacher in the Goose Creek CISD, and most recently have worked with the City of Baytown Public Library’s "Families Learning Together" program.

Spring, 2000 Taught "English as a Second Language" class at Iglesia Bautista de Immanuel, Baytown, Texas.
1993-1994 "HOSTS" Mentor at Harlem Elementary, Baytown, Texas. -- Helped with Reading Skills of 1st and 2nd grade at-risk students.

City of Baytown Sterling Municipal Library – ESL Teacher, "Families Learning Together" program; I taught English language classes to Spanish speaking adults.

Harris County Department of Education – (concurrent with Sterling Library) – taught level 3 English as a Second Language to adults having various native languages.

1997 – 2000

City of Baytown Sterling Municipal Library – Computer Technician, "Families Learning Together" program; I assisted adult Spanish speaking students in learning English using the Rosetta Stone software. I also taught classes when needed.

Buna Independent School District, Buna, Texas – Served as a fifth grade teacher for three years. Assisted in developing Five-Year Plan Curriculum Guide, and selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
